Academy Conversion Consultation

We are writing to inform you that, after careful consideration, the governing body of Pool Hayes Primary are seeking to voluntarily convert to an academy and join a Multi Academy Trust.

In seeking to convert to an academy, our priority is to ensure we continue to provide a high-quality education for our pupils. We believe joining an academy trust will provide the freedom to make effective financial decisions, securing our future and driving improvement.

The Government signalled their desire to see all schools move to academy status in time, to enjoy greater freedom and flexibility in how they can deliver education. Like many other schools both locally and nationally, our school has looked at the benefits and freedoms Academy status can bring and feel it is something we should explore.
Being part of an established trust can offer Pool Hayes Primary children access to additional resources and expertise, therefore giving them more educational opportunities.

We believe that effective collaboration can benefit everyone. Through the sharing of excellent practice, shared resources, training opportunities and future economies of scale we can further improve the provision for our learners:

  • Improved teaching and learning for our pupils, because:
  • Teaching expertise and resources can be shared across the trust
  • There will be more training opportunities for our staff
  • Greater freedom in deciding how to spend government funding
  • The opportunity to collaborate, improving curriculum provision and academic outcomes
  • So we can have additional or better extra-curricular activities
  • Greater financial efficiency
  • By procuring goods and services at a larger scale across the trust
  • By sharing staff, including specialist staff who work centrally for the trust, like a school improvement team or pastoral team

Before proceeding with the conversion, there will be a formal consultation in which we invite you to share your views and ask any questions you may have. There are a number of ways you can take part in this consultation:
The consultation period ends on Friday the 31st of October 2025. You can post your responses to the consultation directly here: https://forms.office.com/e/37igiGbzFf
For answers to questions such as - will the uniform change? Will the school name change? Please read the conversion FAQs document here.
